Jeffrey Smith

Jeffrey Smith’s background ranges from Hollywood to High Tech. He began his career in advertising; writing, producing and directing commercials for clients including McDonald’s, Panasonic and Sony.

He moved his family to Los Angeles after being offered a position to create movie trailers and TV promos for Disney. While there, he ended up creating hundreds of trailers, TV spots and promotions for every studio and each of the major TV networks.

After relocating to Houston with his wife, Sebrina, Jeff decided to fulfill a life-long dream and create a comic strip. It was at that time that he felt God pressing upon him to use the comic strip format to spread His Word. And a few months later, Prayer Pups Christian Comics was born.

Jeff’s pastor first suggested that he use the comics to create some children’s church bulletins, saying the children were bored with the bulletins his church used. This grew into the Good Newz Children’s Church Bulletins, which has been used by hundreds of churches across the United States.

As Jeff continued posting new comic strips everyday to the Prayer Pups website, the audience quickly grew in the U.S. and around the world. The Prayer Pups have been featured in magazines, newsletters and bulletins in more than two dozen countries. The comics have been enjoyed by readers in more than 150 countries and a new children’s activity book releases in 2018.

Jeff currently lives in Kingwood, Texas with his wife Sebrina, and their own little Prayer Pugs, Newton and Lenny.
